Zoology is the branch of biology that is concerned with the understanding of structural and function of animals life. The department runs UG and PG courses. It has four well-equipped laboratories having binocular microscope, incubator, centrifuge, spectrophotometer, colorimeter, pH meter and a book bank etc. Various activities like filed studies, project work, excursion, seminars, internal assessment are being carried out. The department has a dedicated team of staff members who have been recognised from time to time through honours and awards such as young scientist award, best faculty award etc. 

The Zoology has wide range of career options like IFS, faculty, ecologist, entomologist, environmental consultant, field trial officer, nature conservation officer, scientist in the field of agriculture, fisheries, marine biology etc.

To inhere among the students the highest values of life, love for nature and inculcate knowledge in them especially for animal sciences through quality educational practices.
